Speech Topics

Many of us work long hours and experience work-related stress. Over time, these work demands can burn us out, crater our performance, and harm our health and relationships. In this talk, Dr. Behson, will discuss the negative effects of chronic overwork, help us determine whether we are being affected, and demonstrate how we can protect and advocate for ourselves at work and at home. Supervisors and decision-makers will learn how we can help those we manage avoid the ill-effects of chronic overwork, and how we can design our workflows to reduce overwork while upholding (and improving!) organizational performance, increasing employee well-being and reducing turnover.

Many knowledge-based firms expect a lot from employees, but also fear burning out and losing talented people. In this seminar, Dr. Behson will discuss how employees at intense workplace cultures can advocate for themselves- maintaining and enhancing their productivity while also uncovering more time for life. Further, supervisors and leaders at competitive employers will learn how to build a more flexible and employee-friendly workplace, while upholding (and even accelerating) performance.

Most fathers today strive both to be successful in their careers and to be loving, involved dads. It sometimes seems like an impossible tug-of-war. But it doesn’t have to be. Dr. Behson helps dads understand they are not alone, and offers a series of concrete time and life management strategies that enable them to succeed in their careers while also being the present, involved fathers they always wanted to be. Through personal stories and interviews with dozens of working dads, as well as actionable advice and useful self-assessment exercises, Scott Behson will help you feel more confident in succeeding in both parts of your life.
